Perfect Wedding Magazine – Wedding SOS!

Posted on September 5, 2011

Following last month’s contribution to the Wedding SOS! pages in Perfect Wedding magazine, I was thrilled to be asked to answer another reader’s question on theming.

I’m getting married in November and want to make my venue feel lovely and cosy, but still keep it really pretty. Do you have any suggestions?

Candlelight is great for giving a venue a warm glow, and it’s very romantic.  Try placing pillar candles and tea lights on ledges around the room as well as on the tables.  If you stand them in glass holders the glass will reflect the light around the room even more.  If venue doesn’t allow naked flames, consider using fairy lights instead, and hang them from the walls, from beams or in corner plants.  Incorporate flowers such as anemones, lilies or roses to create a feminine feel that’s in-keeping with the season.

You can read this and other questions on page 188 in the September issue (out now). If there is anything you would like to ask me, email it to suzanne@rsvpwedding.co.uk and I will post your questions with answers here on our blog.
